Pregnancy Resource Center of Metropolitan Richmond is dedicated to providing compassionate care and practical assistance to women who are unprepared for pregnancy. Community of Grace partners with this local mission through their annual “Walk for Life,” Baby Bottle Campaign, and volunteering. Since 2005, CGC has contributed $17,800 to this community service. Community of Grace touches its neighbors as it partners with Central Virginia Food Bank. Our Food Pantry serves our community families on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 9am-11am. We desire to provide encouragement to anyone who is struggling financially by providing food and offering support in other areas of need. This ministry touches over 40 families semi-monthly. In addition, CGC has created a free Clothes Closet to further encourage those who have need. Clean donations are always appreciated and used. Community of Grace is a member of CCHASM (Chesterfield Colonial Heights Alliance for Social Ministry), an alliance of faith-based organizations within our community, which seeks to care for the emergency needs of our area residents. Individual requests are referred to this center to resource the best ways to meet their needs. Community of Grace believes in the importance of investing in the lives of the next generation. In the 2009-2010 school year, we again partner with Chesterfield County Public Schools by providing volunteers who serve as a lunch buddy or mentor and by helping meet the school supply needs of both students and teachers. Over 75% of all international students in the United States never enter an American home during their entire stay. This can be both a difficult and lonely time as these students adjust to a new culture and new language. Community of Grace volunteers seek to befriend and provide a home away from home for international students at VCU. Community of Grace partners with Resource Guidance Services, Inc. to provide a place for group counseling to residents of Chesterfield County. These weekly counseling times help many to reclaim effectiveness in their lives. Believing that the local church has a biblical mandate to care for widows and orphans, Community of Grace encourages members to provide loving and caring foster homes to needy children. Over 510,000 American children are in foster care, temporarily removed from their parent's care for reasons ranging from neglect, abandonment, abuse or lack of means to provide adequate care. Interested in an opportunity for real, meaningful Christian service, that just happens to be an enormous mission field, right here at home? All it takes is committed, stable Christian families to care enough to be salt and light to children caught in a dark and bitter world. For more information see Chesterfield County Social Services. |

CE National exists to partner with local churches in encouraging God's people to greater ministry. Both through training resources and short-term mission opportunities people are invited to show Jesus Christ through acts of kindness. Examples include Operation Barnabas, a Summer mission opportunity for high school students. Students from around the United States team together to learn and to share their faith through puppets, music, clowning, drama, public performance, testimonies and team relationships. Momentum is a successful, annual youth conference structured to challenge teens to look beyond selfishness and into service. Inner-city experiences are also available to open the eyes of both adults and teens to the world around them. Community of Grace is represented by Jim Snavely, who coordinates church-planting through the recruitment, training, and placement of qualified workers throughout the midatlantic and northeastern regions of the United States. Jim also aids local churches like ours to reach out in greater ways to our communities. Community of Grace is the sponsoring church of a new church-plant named Awaken Church in Virginia Beach. Through mentoring, financial support, and prayer we are excited to see many people’s lives changed because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ both taught and lived in the Hampton Roads area. Community of Grace partners with Disciples Outreach Ministries in inner-city Washington, DC to bring hope and healing to our nation’s capitol. Through our own church fund-raising and involvement with these faithful folks, we help them to serve others through food distribution, Summer camps, and spiritual growth. |

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world though gift-filled shoeboxes and the Good News of God's love. This ministry of Samaritan's Purse allows Community of Grace an opportunity for all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on mission project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. 2009 is our 4th year participating in this world-wide ministry. This year the church donated 108 shoeboxes! Since 2006 we have contributed 363 shoeboxes to needy children. Read more about international missions. Up-To-Date News |
